Entered the USN on 31 July 65, attending boot camp at San Diego California.

Given orders from boot camp to the USS Enterprise CVAN-65 on 23 October 65.

Was part of the "First Nuclear Task Force in Combat" 2 December 65.

Requested RD"A" school while onboard and entered "A" school 22 July 66.

Given orders out of "A" school for USS Sumner County LST-1148.

Reported onboard 13 December 66 with 3 other shipmates at Mole Pier.

Went from RDSA to RD2 rate wise and married the love of my life "Maggie"

and became the proud father of our first child "Michelle" while onboard.

Entered civilian life 25 September 69 and worked at Inland Steel Co.,

Indiana Harbor Works for 32 years in electrical maintenance.

We now have 2 children with the addition of "Patrick" in 72.

Both children attended Purdue University Calumet.

We are expecting our first grandchild in September.

I’ve been a lifelong archery deer-hunting addict and have taken up

black powder rifle hunting with my brother near the Canadian border
